Abstract
Examines the expression of alpha5beta1 in response to the tumor promoter phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) in the human promonocytic cell line U-937. Enhancement of the adherence of U-937 cells to fibronectin by PMA through the increase of the expression of both the alpha5- and beta1-subunit mRNA and the surface expression of the protein.
