Abstract
The article presents a study related to the frequency of methylation of the O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) in ependymal tumours and malignant astrocytic gliomas. The results of the study showed that the MGMT promoter methylation was significantly less frequent in ependymal tumours. However, it states that the significance of MGMT promoter methylation status could act as potential prognostic marker for ependymal tumour treatment in future prospective trials.
