Abstract
This article discusses a case of metastatic calcinosis in a 25-year-old female patient with end-stage kidney disease. Metastatic calcinosis is a rare condition characterized by soft tissue calcification, typically occurring in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease. The patient presented with symptoms such as lower limb edema, arterial hypertension, and nephrotic proteinuria. The diagnosis was confirmed through radiographic evaluation, and phosphate-binding therapy was optimized to improve serum levels. The patient ultimately underwent renal transplantation, resulting in the resolution of symptoms and the reabsorption of calcifications. This case highlights the importance of adequately controlling mineral and bone disorders associated with chronic kidney disease and the benefits of kidney transplantation in reversing complications.
