Abstract
Reveals that two- and three-photon processes were found to be responsible in populating the [sup4]S[sub3⁄2] and the ²P[sub3⁄2] states. Data on the energy upconversion signals observed on exciting the LaF[sub3]:Er³+; with a pump laser beam.
