Abstract
Presents a study which shows that a kinase-regulated PDZ-domain interaction controls endocytic sorting of the Beta2-adrenergic receptor. Description of the mechanism that controls the sorting of membrane proteins in the endocytic pathway; Identification of a new role for PDZ-domain-mediated protein interaction and for the actin cytoskeleton in endocytic sorting, and suggestion of a mechanism by which GRK-mediated phosphorylation could regulate membrane trafficking of G-protein-coupled receptors after endocytosis.
