Abstract
This article compares the outcomes of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and observation for incidentally discovered, asymptomatic meningiomas. The study reviewed multiple databases and included five studies with a total of 1196 patients. The results showed that patients treated with upfront SRS had larger tumors, higher rates of radiographic stability, and lower rates of subsequent surgical intervention compared to those treated with observation. The study suggests that upfront SRS is generally more effective for managing incidentally discovered meningiomas, but further research is needed and observation may still be appropriate for certain patients.
