Abstract
The article discusses a study of fossil palm leaf from the Hemis Formation of Ladakh, Jammu, Kashmir, India. It presents a description of the characteristic features of the fossil. It states that the researchers decided to call the fossil specimen as P. tsokarensis because it is different from all known species of Palmacites. It emphasizes the importance of the discovery of the specimen for enriching the palaeoflora in view of the paucity of paleobotanical material from the area.
