Abstract
The Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) guidelines 2021 also mentions that Adrenaline (Epinephrine) is the first line treatment for anaphylaxis.3 If we may request you to clarify whether Ephedrine is now the drug of choice for anaphylaxis. As per latest guidelines mentioned in World Allergy Organization Anaphylaxis Guidance 2020, for management of anaphylaxis, Epinephrine is the drug of choice for acute management of anaphylaxis,2 and this drug is injected at a dose of 0.01 mg/kg via the intramuscular route into the Vastus lateralis muscle.
