Abstract
The article aims to examine the regularities of erosion of a pointed anode under single electric discharges in air. The article will emphasize on the process of melting and evaporation for they are the mechanisms of devastation of electrodes under electric spark machining. Calculations are presented for the description of the process. Moreover, analysis of the results of the examinations helped distinguish the linear dependence of the volume of melted and evaporated material of a pointed anode.
