Abstract
An interview with Malkin professor Robert D. Putnam of public policy at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government is presented. Topics discussed by Putnam include the issues he addressed in his book "Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis" which highlights the opportunity gap among children from rich and poor families, the impact of the opportunity gap in higher education, and several ways to alleviate the educational gap such as recruiting first generation college students.
