Abstract
The authors reflect on global efforts which have been made to advance Millennium Development Goals aimed at reducing child mortality and improving maternal health. They suggest that countries have made substantial progress towards the goals which has led to reductions in maternal and child mortality since 1990. They argue that the global health community and governments need to advance investment and training to eliminate barriers to multisector collaboration to advance the goals.
