Abstract
The article examines the posthumanist poetry of Argentinean Alberto Girri and Venezuelan Rafael Cadenas. It mentions that both poets offer significant critiques of modern Western subjectivity and humanism. It notes how the work of Girri and Cadenas correspond to the first wave of posthumanist thought. It also discusses the critique of both poets of the figure as the commanding centrality of the poetic subject.
