Abstract
This article discusses the use of SOX10 immunostaining in frozen tissue for the detection of lentigo maligna (LM), a type of melanoma. The study found that SOX10 had a sensitivity of 94% and a specificity of 100% in detecting LM when compared to conventional analysis using paraffin-embedded sections. The use of SOX10 immunostaining in frozen tissue can potentially reduce the need for multi-day procedures and improve the efficiency of margin control techniques. However, the study has limitations, including a small sample size and lack of blind assessment of the slides. Overall, SOX10 immunostaining shows promise in improving the detection of LM and streamlining surgical procedures. [Extracted from the article]
