Abstract
The article discusses the factors to consider in the selection and implementation of gearboxes for precise motion control for servosystems. Topics include high-precision planetary gearboxes, using gearboxes for torque multiplication in servomotors and for addressing the issue of inertia mismatches in high performance servosystems. Other topics include the types of gearboxes from worm and spur gears to helical inline gearboxes and online tools for selecting servosystems for gearboxes.
