Abstract
The article discusses information of the Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources initiative and its goal to standardize early detection and epidemic intelligence among public health organizations. Topics mentioned include the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in West Africa, how World Health Organization (WHO) is increasing the epidemic intelligence community, and WHO's Health Emergencies Programme in Geneva, Switzerland.
