Abstract
This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, examines the efficacy of endoscopic interventions versus surgery for pain management in patients with chronic calcific pancreatitis (CCP). The study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of comparative studies to assess the outcomes of these interventions. The results suggest that surgery may be more effective in relieving pain and achieving technical success compared to endoscopic interventions. However, no significant difference was found in adverse events between the two approaches. The findings highlight the importance of individualized treatment approaches that consider pain relief, procedural success, and potential adverse events. [Extracted from the article]
