Abstract
The article discusses the move of the New York State Department of Health to compare the results of the Newborn Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) Seroprevalence study in order to have an approximate calculation of the biases that occurred during the research in New York. According to the article, several reasons that caused the prejudices includes the invalidity of the initial specimen, the Newborn Screening program did not receive the samples and that it was not appropriate for HIV testing. In addition, it used the random sampling method in correcting the results of the initial samples that were not received and the grouping of samples based on race and ethnicity for invalid and insufficient specimens.
