Abstract
This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, examines the prognosis of young patients with early gastric cancer (EGC) who undergo endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The study enrolled 1,349 patients who underwent ESD for EGC between 2006 and 2020, dividing them into a young age (YA) group (age ≤ 50 years) and an other age (OA) group (age > 50 years). The results showed that ESD is a favorable and effective treatment for EGC patients under 50 years old, with lower rates of metachronous neoplasms and metachronous cancer compared to older patients. However, there was no significant difference in local recurrence between the two groups. [Extracted from the article]
