Donepezil in Vascular Dementia: A Neurosonological and Neuropsychological Study.

Abstract
This article focuses on effects of donepezil on the cognitive system and cerebral blood flow in patients with vascular dementia (VaD). Eight patients with probable VaD were studied. Patients were examined using neuropsychological tests characterised by Mini-Mental Status Examination and the cognitive subscale of the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale and underwent assessment using the Global Deterioration Scale. All patients underwent neurosonological examination by echo-enhanced transcranial colour-coded Doppler sonography using a 128-channel hand-held transducer.
