Abstract
The article describes two cases showing that reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) could offer a useful tool to rule out malignancy. Topics discussed include the cases of a 40-year-old woman who was under dermoscopy surveillance due to atypical nevi syndrome type B and of a 33-year-old man with atypical nevi syndrome type A. Also mentioned are the cases showing the thermal injury caused by laser could provide atypical features to melanocytic nevi, avoiding unnecessary excisions.
