Abstract
The article explores the role of autonomy in decision-making for prenatal testing. It highlights the many genetic counseling codes of practice and ethics emphasize the importance of supporting patients' autonomous decisions. It mentions the autonomy is considered especially important in prenatal testing due to historical concerns about eugenics and coercion. It explore the arguments for and against non-medical trait NIPT.
