Abstract
The article presents information on a study which generated a mathematical model to forecast the oxygen-permeability coefficient of nylon film as a function of the water activity at the upstream and downstream side of the film. A review of the related literature on the barrier properties of flexible films is given. Findings suggest that a more accurate analysis of the oxygen and water-transport phenomena in an event of water-sensitive packaging films.
