Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 76-year-old man with a recurrent perianal abscess after one month of diarrhea, perianal pain and reduced appetite. Topics discussed include the treatment given to the patient, difficulty of elective operations for diverticular fistulae, and the need to consider an intra-abdominal source of sepsis in recurrent perianal abscess without anal fistula.
