Abstract
The article describes the progress in polio eradication in Nigeria between January 2018 and May 2019. Topics covered include insurgency in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states in 2009 that led to internal displacement of 1.8 million people in Nigeria, national coverage with a third dose of poliovirus vaccine by year of age delivered by routine childhood immunization services, and two major indicators of poliovirus transmission.
