Abstract
The authors reflect on the study conducted by S. Gupta and L. Neyses on the effects of standard therapy with torasemide in patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD). They argue on several topics including its impact of diuretic therapy on some cardiovascular disorders, the escalation of diuretics without assurance assessment, and diuretic resistance. They suggest further studies, particularly on biomarkers, to explore the effect of escalated diuretics in various body organs.
