Abstract
The authors discuss the neglected connections between alcohol consumption and human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS). Referring to several articles within the issue, they state inadequacy in the importance to alcohol-HIV harms or alcohol use as an HIV risk factor in HIV policies, services or research projects. According to the authors, randomized trials that could provide compelling evidence of causality are necessary.
