Abstract
This article discusses a case of a man in his 50s who presented with chronic headaches and weakness in his bulbar muscles, which raised suspicion for myasthenia gravis (MG). Laboratory testing confirmed the presence of antiacetylcholine receptor antibodies, and a CT scan revealed a solid mass in his lung. A biopsy confirmed squamous cell carcinoma. The patient also experienced numbness on the right side of his chin, which led to a repeat CT scan that showed an increased size of the lung mass and lymphangitis carcinomatosis. The patient was referred to palliative care and passed away 5 months after the lung cancer diagnosis. The article highlights the rare case of MG and numb chin syndrome in a patient with metastatic lung disease and emphasizes the importance of considering malignancy in patients with these syndromes.
