Abstract
The article presents a study that investigates the development of mosquito midgut and the metamorphic remodeling of Aedes aegypti L. and Cules pipiens L. The study is conducted through the collection of cytological evidence in both the anterior and posterior larval midgut of the mosquitoes and the metamorphic remodeling of the midgut. Results of the study show that 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation gradually ceases at the same time diploid cells continue to replicate.
