Abstract
The possibility of replacing carbon tetrachloride by other available solvents — hexane, petroleum ether, and mixtures of these compounds with ethyl alcohol — for extraction of oiling agents used in the chemical fibre industry was investigated. It was shown that the solvent selected for extraction of the oiling agent is determined by both the structure of the fibre and the composition of the oiling agent. Recommendations are given on selecting the solvent for use in industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
