Abstract
A 76-year-old woman with end-stage renal disease secondary to autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, status post deceased donor renal transplant in 2009, presented with a painful tongue ulcer, fatigue, and weight loss. Ultrasound (US) of the left forearm yielded an abscess (Figure 3), and computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a small nodule of the left upper lobe (Figure 4). 1980; 59 (1): 1 - 33. 9 Kirn DH, Fredericks D, McCutchan JA, Stites D, Shuman M. Serum ferritin levels correlate with disease activity in patients with AIDS and disseminated histoplasmosis. Markedly elevated serum lactate dehydrogenase levels are a clue to the diagnosis of disseminated histoplasmosis in patients with AIDS. [Extracted from the article]
