Abstract
The article reports on the land surface wind speed in 2013. Topics discussed include the use of anemometers to observe surface wind over land at several weather stations, the varied surface wind speed recorded in North America, Europe and Australia, and the regional average climatology and trends for land surface winds since 1981.
