Abstract
The article reports on the influence of technical vendors over Information Technology (IT) research. Forrester Research Inc., IDC Corp. and others inform that they make millions from providing technical support to the companies they keenly monitor like International Business Machines Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Oracle Corp. The article also presents how relationships between Stampede Technologies Inc., a data acceleration software provider and Gartner Group Inc., the biggest of IT research companies, turned sour after a conflict of interest raised over IT research work.
