Abstract
This document discusses the association between hospitalizations and the response to exercise interventions in individuals with peripheral artery disease (PAD). The study combines data from two randomized clinical trials of home-based walking exercise for PAD patients. The results show that hospitalizations were common among participants, and those who were hospitalized during the exercise intervention had significantly less improvement in their walking performance compared to those who were not hospitalized. The study suggests the need for targeted interventions to help PAD patients maximize the benefits of exercise after a hospitalization. [Extracted from the article]
