Abstract
The article reports on the study that determines the incidence, predictors and outcomes with impossible mask ventilation. It shows that 19 impossible mask ventilation patients have demonstrated difficult intubation, with 15 being intubated successfully. It suggests that 12 patients are required an alternative intubation technique, including two surgical airways and two patients who were awakened and underwent successful fiberoptic intubation. It concludes that impossible mask ventilation is an infrequent airway event that is associated with difficult intubation.
