Abstract
Although the need for counselors to resolve personal and professional value conflicts is not a new concern, options for counselors to use when faced with this ethical dilemma remain limited. The ability to ethically integrate personal values while reconciling value conflicts can be considered through a developmental lens. We present the concept of value harnessing and the HARNESS Model as one viable option for counselors to utilize when facing conflicts between personal and professional values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
