Abstract
The article describes the case of a 22-year-old male who presented with 4 months of recurrent rectal bleeding. A heterotopic gastric mucosa was revealed in the histological examination of rectal biopsy while the flexible sigmoidoscopy revealed a sessile erythematous polyp, not ulcerated but with raised margin then a technetium-pertechnetate scan were seen to have increased rectum uptake while no other areas have ectopic gastric tissue. The article discusses gastric heterotopia in the rectal area.
