Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the potential role of L-leucine in cell growth and human erythroid progenitor cells. It analyzes the effects of L-leucine on the phosphorylation levels of ribosomal protein gene RPS14-deficient erythroblasts in patients with del(5q) myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and mTORC1 signaling. It suggests that L-leucine treatment may result to the improvement of erythroid defect in patients with del(5q) MDS.
