Abstract
According to the United Nations State of the World's Migratory Species report, hundreds of migratory species, including humpback whales and wandering albatrosses, are facing threats due to human activity. Almost half of the migratory animals on the UN's list of vulnerable species are experiencing population declines, and a quarter are at risk of extinction. These animals face various dangers along their migratory routes, such as electrocution, environmental poisoning, habitat loss, and illegal hunting. Overfishing, pollution, habitat loss, and climate change are the main factors contributing to these alarming trends. However, there are potential solutions, such as reducing light pollution and changing fishing gear, that could help mitigate these threats. [Extracted from the article]
