Abstract
Coloring carcinogenic dye molecules, which are released in water, pollute it and are not degraded naturally. A novel quaternary photocatalyst ZrCdPbO4 is synthesized and characterized by different analytical techniques XRD, FESEM, EDS and UV-Vis spectroscopy. This is used as a photocatalyst for the mineralization of carcinogenic Brilliant Green dye. Effect of different factors like pH, the weight of photocatalyst, dye concentration and light intensityare observed. The reaction follows pseudo-first-order rate law and mineralization by •OH free radical is confirmed. Complete mineralization of the dye is observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
