Abstract
The article discusses a 15-year-old female with Graves' disease who developed acute liver injury secondary to autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) after initiating methimazole treatment, highlighting diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in managing coexisting autoimmune conditions. Topics include diagnostic dilemma posed by elevated transaminases in Graves' disease patients, the importance of comprehensive hepatitis workup, and the therapeutic approach to managing AIH alongside hyperthyroidism.
