Abstract
This document is an interview with Professor Piet Meiring, a prominent figure in South African theology and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Prof. Meiring discusses his background, influential figures he has encountered, and his thoughts on the current state and future of missiology in South Africa. He emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive missiological curriculum and the Missio Dei perspective. The text recommends various books for studying missiology, including older publications by David Bosch and Timothy Yates, as well as newer editions by authors like Lesslie Newbigin and Stephen Neill. It also addresses the Dutch Reformed Church's reluctance to embrace the Belhar Confession and discusses the impact of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa. The text concludes by exploring the theme of hope and its significance in difficult situations. [Extracted from the article]
