Abstract
This article discusses the factors associated with the diagnostic yield of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided tissue sampling for the cyto-histological diagnosis of solid pancreatic tumors. The study analyzed a large prospective registry of patients who underwent EUS sampling of solid pancreatic tumors from 2008 to 2021. The results showed that the use of core needles and rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) improved the diagnostic yield. The size of the tumor was also found to be a factor associated with a correct diagnosis. Overall, EUS-guided sampling is an accurate technique for diagnosing solid pancreatic tumors, with higher diagnostic yields achieved with core needles and ROSE. [Extracted from the article]
