Abstract
This article discusses cases of the transmission of multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli through kidney transplantation in California and Texas 2009. It cites the case of a transplant recipient who was suspected to have been contracted by Escherichia coli from the donated kidney. It identifies the symptoms experienced by the patients, including fever and chills.
