Abstract
The article describes a case of murine typhus with retiform purpura-like presentation in a 51-year-old Japanese man who had stayed in tents in the jungles and beaches of Sri Lanka and had been bitten by insects. Topics covered include symptoms of the patient, features of murine typhus, and treatment with doxycline or chloramphenicol.
