Summarizes studies defining three independent identified immunologic and virologic parameters of HIV infection. Use of the immunologic and virologic markers in determining the risk for progression in different stages of HIV infection; Rate of decline of CD4+ cells; T-cell reactivity; HIV biological phenotype.
