Abstract
The article discusses risk communication, community engagement, and social mobilization during the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in Équateur Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2018. Literature reviews were coordinated through global social scientist networks. A listen-first approach was used by community volunteers and local organization networks to gather data for adapting strategies. Several tools were disseminated for use in outbreak affected areas.
