Abstract
An assessment has been made of the strength reliability of parachute fabrics. The general investigation procedure boiled down to finding empirical distribution of breaking load of parachute fabrics, selecting probabilistic-statistical model of the studied parameter, and calculating reliability characteristics for different loads. The investigations demonstrated that use of strength reliability characteristics of parachute fabrics considerably broadens assessment of their mechanical properties. Reliability characteristics are expedient to use for standardizing strength indices of parachute fabrics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
