Abstract
The article presents information on a study conducted to investigate the effect of automated short message service (SMS)-based reminders on medication adherence in patients discharged from hospital after acute coronary syndrome (ACS). In the study, 62 patients with ACS received either automated SMS reminders before each intake of cardiac medications, or only usual care after discharge. The study found that automated SMS-based reminders can enhance medication adherence in ACS patients.
