Abstract
Abdominal CT demonstrated a high-grade mechanical closed loop small-bowel obstruction secondary to a foramen of Winslow internal hernia. The management of a foramen of Winslow hernia always requires surgical reduction and careful assessment of the herniated bowel for intestinal viability. Since the widespread introduction of CT, this mortality rate has been recently reported at a much more modest 5%.9 Significantly in this case, we describe an important incidence of a foramen of Winslow hernia that was not detected on original imaging.
