Abstract
The article offers information about the Cronobacter sakazakii infections, which can be linked to opened cans of powdered infant formula and contaminated breast pump equipment. To prevent these potentially devastating infections, increased awareness of the widespread presence of Cronobacter in the environment is necessary, as well as safe preparation and storage of powdered infant formula and careful cleaning and sanitization of breast pump equipment.
